Step by Step

Today is Aunt Terri's birthday! Happy birthday Aunt T! You loved going to her home and carrying around as many balloons you could find. You simply L<3VE Balloons! While there Pop Pop (Terri's dad) was holding your hand and have you walk over to me. YOU LOVED IT! You would do three steps, two steps and laughing the whole time. You were so happy and proud of yourself. It brought such joy. The whole room cheering every time you would do a step all on your own. It is such an honor to watch you grow! It amazes our whole family how much you've grown. We are truly blessed. Keep those walkin boots on!

What's Up Doc

Whatcha' been up to in the last month:

1. Whatcha' Saying:
a. "DatDat" and then you point showing us what you are talking about or directing us as to where you want to go.
b. Nonna: for Mama
c. Dada: for Dad
d. Ollie: for your good friend, brother and cat
e. ALL DONE: then do the sign for all done while tilting your head back at "All" then forward at "Done".
f. Ahh: Which can mean anything...really. It depends how you use it, quick, slow, pointing not pointing. Ahh is used on a daily basis all the time.
g. Ella: for Willow the dog...another close friend of yours.
h. Doda: for cousin Rosa

2. You currently love the Muppets and multiple times a day we listen to Manamana:

3. You snap your fingers. It is really cute. You picked up on snapping when I was so sleepy and had you in bed with us and sang a song snapping my fingers instead of clapping. I open my eyes only to see you trying to snap. Now anytime you hear music or you sign to others you snap. So cool!

4. You sign to people: "La, la, laaa-La, la, laaa" is currently your number one hit and you even change your voice when signing. It's brilliant.

5. You love black beans and hate any food with "strange" texture....like brocolli, pasta, anything with sauce...you are not a fan of.

6. You crawl around but prefer walking and dad and I think you can walk but hold our hands just to be safe.

7. Your favorite song is "Itsy Bitsy" still (since you were about 6 weeks old you've loved that song)

8. Your favorite Books:
a. How Does a Dinosaur Say Good Night
b. Encyclopdeia Prehistorica Dinosaur
c. Dinosaur vs. Bedtime
d. Good night New York City (but only when getting ready for a nap)

9. You love watching us brush your hair and you love brushing your own teeth.

10. You love to snuggle and rock on the rocking chair or cuddle in bed. Good thing because dad and I love that too.

11. You love playing with the playstation and taking the dvds out of it. Yikes!

12. You are really cautious and don't like to crawl through the little toy tunnels. Rather you'll crawl around them.

It's Your Party

Your birthday celebrations continue and on Monday, January 16th, 2012 (Martin Luther King Day) we celebrated your first birthday with a family party at the Pop Shop, a cute 1950's soda fountain shop where people were able to make their own ice cream sundaes! Fun! Everyone said they had a good time but I felt less then host like, as dad and I were the only ones you wanted to help you get around...and get around you did! You and your friends/cousins (Madison, Megan, Ryan, and Dean) all ran about enjoying your time together. You literally were running and laughing for the full hour and half, except when you laid on the ground crying because dad and I wanted to sign "Happy Birthday" to you and you wanted to keep on running with the kids. Over all it was a great after noon and a lovely first birthday. We love you so much and can't believe you have left babyhood and entered boyhood. It's been such an honor watching you learn and grow! We love you so!

In Honor of Your Birthday

The Sign that Would Change Our Life Forever and For Better...

Dad and I seeing each other for the first time after confirmation that you were on the way in January...we were nervous and excited. No one but dad and I knew you were coming so in every picture before we made the announcement I would do the +1 sign to indicate we were now a family of 3.

What I saw after leaving the doctors and finding out you were a boy!

They Say It's Your Birthday

And we had a good time...

Considering
the circumstances: 6 hours before the clock struck 12am on 1/12/12 marking your 1st birthday, you, dad and I were at Tribecca Pediatrics having you probed and prodded. Since Christmas Eve we (you, dad and I) have had this terrible cold and can't seem to beat it. Monday we had you at the doctor and they couldn't find anything wrong, even calling your ears spectacular. But you had a persistent cough and very lethargic. Even crawling into my lap saying "night night" when Aunt Terri and Rosa were over for a visit-so unlike you Mr. Social. So, back to the doctor and they gave you antibiotics to fight the "puss" they now found in your ears.

The Fight Begins: and you slept until 8 am snuggling next to dad and I. We loved it and woke up to a...
