A Mover and Shaker
My Little Sickie
(Taken care of his little guy! You and dad hanging out and getting you better-Best Pals)
Aww, our poor boy! You recently got your first cold! We are not sure if you are teething or just caught something from the change in the weather. Sniffling, stuffy, sneezey! You and I were up for most of the night (Mr. Good Times back in the HOUSE). You just didn't understand why you felt so bad. Dad and I gave you some meds, used eucalyptus oil in the humidifier and rubbed some Baby Vics on your chest to help clear your sinuses. We got you all snuggled up. You rested at home, watched the game with Dad and had a little brunch with Uncle Joshua. Thankfully you are getting better. Im still keeping an eye out for a little toofers to pop (blame it on the teeth) to finalize the verdict-teething or just plain ill!

Doing Good For Others
As you grow your father and I hope to instill the importance of doing your part to help others, care for your fellow beings and being good to yourself and other people. On Saturday, Sept. 10th, 2011 we participated in the Buddhist Global Relief found. A non profit designed to raise money to help various organizations all over the world feed those in need. We raised almost $800 and our team name was "The Whipper Snappers" Part of our efforts will:
1. Women in Kenya are learning to self sustain through farming 2. Families in Cambodia receive Rice Support so they are able to keep their daughters in school instead of sending them to work 3. Women in Niger have a support group and classes on breast feeding to help reduce malnuturition
It was a lot of fun and we had the opportunity to walk in Riverside Park. Gorg! Most importantly we are helping others.
Let's Play Ball...
Kickball that is! Your dad and I are on a kickball team, The Leg Beaters. You had your first game today and at 8 months you are officially the team mascot. Next week everyone wants you to wear a suit and be the team coach. We had so much fun.

Fun with ya Fatha Victa (thats my New York Accent)
7 months old fun with dad a video by nicole_keating on Flickr.
So, dad started this little game of swinging you around like a roller coaster craddle. You love Love LOVE it! He did this a few days ago and you always motion for him to do it again. It's one of your favorite sports. And it could be a clue that you will enjoy rollercoasters just as much as Dad and I do. Amusement parks will be so much fun! We will be the triple threat on all rides. Bring it on!
Everybody Put Your Paws Togetha...
7 months Clapping Boy a video by nicole_keating on Flickr.
You just learned how to clap at 7 months. I would put my hand over yours a few days prior and would sing our "Clap, Clap" song. Then whenever I sang the song you would start clapping on your own. It's great to watch you learn and grow!

Celebrate Good Times Come On....

Let's Celebrate! As mentioned in an early post Mr. Good Times is your nick name. It has been since I've been pregnant for you. As mentioned, you never slowed us down. You were up for as much fun as we were ;) . I had three baby showers for you (one with family in NJ, one in BKLYN with friends and fam that couldn't make it to NJ and one at work). We are so lucky and grateful for all. Uncle Lao made this invite for your BKLYN Baby Shower. It was so fun. It was done in a bar with live band, music made by Aunt Ruby too, friends and yummy cupcakes. We all had a blast. Isn't the invite the best! (it's me and you).

My Hope for You
"I want Victor Rocco to have peace in his heart. To have wonderful, amazing, solid friendships in his life. People that will pick him up, laugh with him, be there for him. I want him to have so much fun in life. To enjoy all moments. To be good to himself and others. And to truly like who he is."
Weathering The Storm
Your First Hurricane. Her name was Irene. It was one week ago that she came barreling into Brooklyn, NY! No need to worry son, you were in good hands and we had lots of fun with friends! Aunt Pies and Uncle Nick were in town from Denver. We met up with them and had brunch as the sky darkened. We then went to a local pub with Auntie Coach later in the day as rain drops began spitting from above.
You tucked into your stroller. Your new stroller cover protected you from the impending storm. By 6pm dad and I had you home and ready for bed. The rain fell harder, the wind grew stronger and along with your aunts and uncles mentioned above Beth and Ryan came by. You slept. Thunder struck, lightening brightened the sky. We chatted, laughed, had some cocktails. By one am the house was quieter. Everyone had gone, and those who stayed the night were getting ready to slumber. The wind whistled loudly, rain drenched the streets, trees danced and swayed. By 5am you had awoken, I fed you, the wind, at its strongest, rain pelting the streets, trees falling to the ground. I moved you into our bed. We awake at 8am. The storm had passed. Some damage done in Brooklyn. Fun we had had! An adventure indeed and you weathered this storm with flying colors!
