Zoo York

Your first trip to the Zoo happened one week ago. It was great fun. We went to the Prospect Park Zoo in your backyard (that's what we call the park-"your backyard"). Your best friends Isaac and Silvia went and it was their first zoo attendance as well. You saw the Sea Lion show and Baboons. You were interested in the sea lions, the Baboons, not so much. To be honest I dont know how I feel about zoos and keeping animals caged but it is a great opportunity for you to see animals you are reading about in person.

It was a lovely day. After the zoo we all went and had lemonade at the Boat House in the park. A wonderful day!

Playing Hard

(You showing off your ROAR for Isaac-clearly you are enjoying yourself)

At 6 months you often are seen hanging around your pal Isaac! We met Isaac and his mama Ally at your 12 day old doctors appt. Immediately after the two of you were introduced Ally and I simultaneously said to our babes "That's your friend..." and so it was. Friends. You and I do many activities and have lots of adventures with Ally and Isaac, from your first subway ride, to endless playdates. We love it.

On this particular day we were at Isaac and Ally's house and Isaac just woke from his nap. Ally picked you up to surprise and get him. He LOVED it! You two always have so much fun together!

Happy 6 Months!

This is when we first met!

VRKS 6 Months Old

A 1/2 a year has passed! What a wonderful addition to my life! I feel so grateful and blessed each day. Being home with you is a favorite and being there for you while you explore and learn about life is priceless. In six months you have gone from a sweet and happy infant into a BIG and happy baby! Six months ago, I was holding you in the hospital, looking at all your features, mezmorized by your dark hair and full lips. You were so alert. I knew then that you were just like your father. So many came to visit you, say hello to you and meet you for the first time. Today, I held you while you napped. I took a moment to look at those same features-your dark hair that we brush to the side when you get out of your bath, your full lips that you love to suck in when smiling. I can't believe how much you have grown, how exceptional you are. Dad and I are so very blessed to have you as a son! We love you more then words could ever express.

Adult Swim

Well, not really adult but on Saturday, July 9th, 2011, you dipped your toes into the pool for the first time. It was at Aunt Dotties and Uncle Mikes house and Aunt Cheryl hosted. You were unsure about the water at first. When dipping your toes in you would grunt and move wanting to get out and once out you would grunt and move wanting us to dip you back in. Overall, it was a cool experience. You were a huge hit with everyone too. You napped, swam and had a whole bunch of smiles to give away. You were even smiling for the camera which was hilarious and your first time doing such a thing! Gram was there and thrilled you were wearing your rash guard and swim gear. Your dragon hat even made an appearance and got a ton of praise. Great family day you little shark!

It's Like Looking Into the Mirror

MVI_1993 a video by nicole_keating on Flickr.

I love this video. This is the first time you really noticed and enjoyed your reflection in the mirror. I don't know if you realize it is you. I feel like you may think it is one of your friends...such a great video!

Round and Round You Go

Well, sort of. It began in the wee hours of the morning, when the sun began to rise you were up and conversing with your toys-moving around on your back in your crib. It was your conversation with Jean Claude, your elephant, that woke me. As I began to slowly open my eyes from sleep and prepare for our morning routine (changing you, feeding you and tucking you back in bed with us for a few more hours of shut eye) I noticed you laying on your side, trying so hard to turn your whole body over. I poked your dad to wake him so he too can witness the big event. And then BAM, you did it...with the exception of one of your little arms tucked under your body...which I helped move...but you rolled BIG BOY! You were proud and so were we. Keep on Rockin and Rollin! This is just the beginning of fun!

Sound Asleep

Another favorite of mine!

In this shot you had just fallen asleep. When I checked on you you were in this position-on your side with a blanket on your head. This was your new thing at the time. Falling asleep with a blanket over your face. Putting yourself to sleep you would lift your arms placing the blanket on and off your face until finally falling into a slumber. I would wait and wait (sometimes at 4am) for you to finish so that I could remove the blanket and go back to sleep myself. Your Aunt Pies has made this picture her screen saver! Love!

Beach & Babes

Today you, Aunt Ruby and I were up and out this morning heading to Long Beach. It was the first time you felt the salty ocean water. Your Aunt Ruby couldn't wait to play with you in the sun and sand. You were curious and quite serious when we first dipped your toes in the water. Then you would look down and make sounds indicating that I needed to continue putting them in. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of laughs and it couldn't have been a better day.

Power Lunch

Today You, Dad and I met for lunch. We sat outside, it was warm with a cool breeze. We had just finished our weekly "sing along and story hour" at the Brooklyn Public Library. Dad was getting ready for a meeting. We all had a lot of fun! Especially YOU! This is one of my favorite pictures of you! You are 5.5 months old!

Wake Up Sleepy Head

This is one of my favorite videos of you. You're about three months old and chatting away in your crib. I tried to sneak some footage before you noticed. You get shy and at the moment "hate" being filmed. I love your little voice and the way you kick your legs back when answering a question. Such a cool kid!

Daddy Twin-Baby Twin

It has been said by dad that when holding you "I feel like I'm taking care of myself." By most you are described to look "exactly" like dad. Some say I was just the incubator that carried you. We call you dads "Baby Twin" and love it. Forever I would say to my friends, "I don't care what any of my kids look like as long as I have one that looks EXACTLY like Victor." And voila here you are. My friend Stella would say "No! No! No!" whenever I would make such a statement. She thought I would like "that one" the best. And she's right, so far I think you're pretty great!

They Call You Twinkle Toes

As Mr. Good Times, dancing is another past time you partake in. And you're good at it. We love watching you dance! You're about 4 months old in this shot. Crazy Legs Keating Sima taking center stage!

A Piece of Work

Impressive! Your first art piece complete. This is what you and I worked on in the park together a few days ago. You made this for dads 34th Birthday. You've got skillz to pay the billz son! It was a lot of fun, as mentioned earlier. The hand prints we did at home. They were too challenging to do in the park. There was a high percentage you would have paint on your paws (aka hands) and put your fingers in your mouth, decorating the inside of your cheeks. No, No-instead we worked from home. Strategically you sat in your "highchair" while I painted your finger tips, and opened up your hand and did a stamp or two. It took us several tries, wiping down your hands, the canvas and doing it again...until that is the masterpiece was created. Bravo! You gave dad the first present you ever made for him and asked him to print his hands on the blank spaces. Two Victors~Father and Son~Best Pals! Beautiful work boys!
