Sleep Tight

Taking moments to steal some Zzzzz's throughout the day is key in parenthood and has made us thick as thieves.

It's usually your first morning nap that dad and I carefully tuck you in our bed next to the both of us and snuggle next to you. We call it our "Family Naps". Usually, you reach out for dad with your arm stretched while resting your palm on his shoulder. You then turn your tiny head toward me and shut your eyes. We all fall in to a deep slumber. (*Until, of course, Ollie trots in between us all hoping to squeeze himself in....OLIE)
Regardless, finding these moments to rest with you is always something we love and will always cherish!

Your Brooklyn

Growing up in Brooklyn has it's perks. It's cool, fun and there is a ton to do. Here is a recent article that came out confirming why Brooklyn is the best. I hope the link is still good when you read this VRKS! This is the BK you were born into!

Swinging Into Action

Uncle Billy and I took you to the park. This is the first day we were actually able to "push" you on the swing! You had your "game face" on since we were out in public (that's your serious look). You were very curious about all of the events going on in the park!

No Sleep In Brooklyn

As mentioned in an earlier post you are currently rallying for a "No Nap For Summer" rule. Video above from today indicates how you REALLY feel about sleep. ***note that after watching this Dad and I discovered that you said "hi" when we walked in! LOVE IT! LOVE YOU SMARTY!

Footsteps

This was taken yesterday while you were in the park playing with your friends Silvia and Isaac! It was a grand day. Before everyone arrived we laid out a blank canvas. The sun was warm and the grass cool. We worked on a fun painting, and your 2nd art piece may I add, for Papa. His birthday is in a few days. We sat under a big oak tree while I painted your feet and stamped them onto the canvas! It was fun and you were laughing as I painted your tiny toes. The only challenge was washing off the paint before you kicked or put your hand on your feet, which you did! But you cleaned up nice so we were in good shape. Tomorrow we are going to attempt the hands! Dads' going to love his gift you little Picasso You

You've Got Style

We just bought you this new hat. You're a dragon!!! You've gotten a ton of compliments from our neighbors, shop owners and friends. I'm a BIG fan, while dad is not.

Sit On It!

You're a big boy now! Learning balance and how to sit! Today Papa sat you on the bed and you sat all by yourself for almost 10 minutes! Your audience (Dad & I) gave you a standing ovation. It was all quite exciting~you were really proud of yourself! Congratulations Big Boy!!!

A Stitch in Time-

I write this as you "nap". You're like a clock and only prefer naps for 1/2 hour at a time. Recently you have taken to "napping" on me. When napping on me you sleep for about 2.5 hours. HUGE DEAL FOR YOU "GOOD TIMES". That's what we call you, Mr. Good Times. We gave you that name while I was pregnant for you. It was the best and Ill write more about that later. But you never slowed me down. You were always up for some fun. I worked like a wild woman and went out and had fun to boot. For your Auntie Soks birthday we were out until 4 am. Or at an October "Lamb Roast" we danced the night away (exhibit A).with people "high fiving" me for being the ONLY prego out there on the dance floor (a la pavement). Same went for Uncle Billy's and Aunt T's bachleor/ette party. (Exhibit B-that's us below posing with the Ginger Bread Man.-Good Times) Out all night and I was only a month away from having you!

Ill do my best to find time to write. As mentioned you only give me a half hour increments to shower, write for Happy Dayz, and do dishes, clean up, check emails, eat, etc etc. But I guess with the nickname "Good Times" who needs sleep when you are always ready for some fun! And voila...not even a half hour has passed and you have awoken. Right now you are laughing and do 360's-in your crib waiting for me to come get you.

Happy Dayz

Happy Dayz: (N;V;ADJ) chronicling the happy days of parenthood while in a daze of parenting.

I started this journal (blog) to chronicle the milestones of your infant'dom to baby'dom to kid'dom and beyond. You're growing so fast I want to remember all the that you experience and accomplish. You are five months old and it was appx 3 weeks ago that you graduated from your infant months to baby years. You've mastered the art of spitting up, laying on your back, gurgles and smiles. You've found your feed-bravo and love your hands-Encore! Your ready to face the adventure of rolling over, talking, laughing and crawling...and shall we dare say-walking! "Our little boy isn't an infant anymore." I said to your dad. I remember the day when you woke up a baby and left your infantness in the past the night before. It literally was one day you when you went to bed infant and woke up a baby. There was a sadness that came over me and I suspect this meloncholy feeling will creep up on me whenever you reach a new milestone. You're growing up! As with most parents its exciting to see such development yet a touch of sadness at how fast it is going. So as the Happy Dayz of parenthood come dancing in with the rising of each sun every morning I will do my best to record all the cool things you are learning and doing. One thing is for sure! You're a really fun guy!

Apache Blessing

My Dear Victor Rocco,

"May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life". – Apache Blessing
